Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are looking for compassionate individuals to join schools across London and the South East as Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants. In this role you will support pupils with a variety of additional learning needs, helping them achieve academic and social success in a safe and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Support students with learning, communication, behavioural, emotional and social development needs.
• Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour‑support strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, carers and specialist professionals.
• Encourage student independence, confidence and participation in school activities.

Required profile

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
• Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
• Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Classroom Assistant, Support Worker or similar role.
• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs in educational, healthcare, community or care settings.
