Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant – Reading

About the role

This full‑time, temporary position is based in a welcoming primary school in Reading. The SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to support pupils with additional learning needs, helping them achieve confidence and progress in a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, accessible learning activities.
• Adapt classroom resources to meet individual learning requirements.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive participation among pupils.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
