Special Educational Needs Tutor

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEND) Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition to children and young people in Chester. The role focuses on personalised support for learners with a range of additional needs, helping them overcome barriers, build confidence and make academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions for SEND learners.
• Assess individual needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to learners and, where appropriate, parents or guardians.
• Maintain accurate records of sessions and outcomes.
• Collaborate with any external professionals involved in the learner’s support plan.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred).
• Proven experience supporting children with SEND.
• Demonstrated experience delivering one‑to‑one tuition.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional child‑related references.
