About the role
This full‑time, term‑time position supports pupils with special educational needs in a dedicated SEN school in Dorking. You will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to help children develop academically, behaviourally and emotionally.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group learning support for pupils with SEN.
- Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour management and engagement strategies.
- Support personalised learning and behaviour plans.
- Observe, record and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Build trusting relationships and maintain a safe, structured environment.
- Deliver personal care when required.
Required profile
- A degree in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in mental health, child development and behaviour.
- Patient, resilient and empathetic attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, reflective mindset.
- Experience with children or vulnerable groups (desirable).
- Ability to commute to Dorking.
Required skills
What we offer
- Day rate of £93‑£105 (term‑time only).
- Monday‑Friday schedule, 08:30‑15:30.
- On‑site training, CPD and safeguarding support.
- Experience in a specialist SEN/SEMH environment.
