Special Needs Teacher

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Special Needs Teacher to join our supportive school in Chelmsford. You will create an inclusive classroom where pupils with diverse SEND profiles can thrive and reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Develop and implement personalised learning plans in collaboration with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists and parents.
• Assess pupil progress, set meaningful targets and monitor outcomes.
• Provide targeted support for pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to multi‑disciplinary meetings.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience supporting pupils with SEND in either specialist or mainstream settings.
• Strong commitment to inclusive education and ability to build positive relationships with students, families and professionals.
• Patience, creativity and flexibility in adapting teaching approaches.
