Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Urmston, Trafford. This full‑time position starts in September 2026 and focuses on supporting primary‑aged pupils with complex special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum, develop independence and achieve personal goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEN throughout the school day.
• Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, teaching assistants and external professionals to deliver tailored interventions.
• Assist pupils with personal care and social skills as required.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate updates to staff and families.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children with special educational needs, especially complex cases (preferred).
• Caring, patient and resilient attitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
