Special Needs Teaching Assistant – Full‑time

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant for a school in CR0, starting September 2026. The position begins as a temporary assignment with the prospect of becoming permanent, working full‑time on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and complex needs.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery.
• Help manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
• Build constructive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Contribute to the progress and wellbeing of each student.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children who have SEN, preferably in a school setting.
• Experience with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or complex needs is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and communication abilities.
• Patient, empathetic, proactive and reliable.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Two professional child‑related references covering the last two years.
