About the role
This full‑time, fixed‑term position supports pupils with social, mental and health (SMH) needs and trauma‑related backgrounds in a highly regarded primary special school in Southcote, Reading. You will help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment where every child feels understood and can thrive.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils with SMH needs and/or trauma backgrounds throughout the school day.
- Assist in establishing a calm, consistent classroom atmosphere that promotes learning.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children to encourage emotional regulation and academic progress.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored interventions.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
