Specialised SEND Tutor – Part‑time

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a specialised SEND Tutor to deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition to children and young people with special educational needs in Liverpool. The role is part-time (5-15 hours per week), starts in September 2026 and continues on an ongoing basis.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to each learner’s individual needs.
• Adapt lessons and materials to support learners with autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, speech and language difficulties, or other additional needs.
• Help disengaged learners re-engage with education, build confidence and develop key life skills.
• Support learners in preparing for their future and reaching their full potential.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience working with learners who may be disengaged from education.
• Creative, patient and flexible approach to teaching.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate with Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional child-related references.
• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (desirable).
