Specialist Clinical Pharmacist & Teacher Practitioner (50/50 split)

About the role

This position combines clinical pharmacy leadership at Good Hope Hospital with teaching responsibilities at Aston University. You will split your week 50/50, delivering high‑quality patient care while shaping the next generation of pharmacists through lectures, workshops and placement supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead clinical pharmacy service delivery on wards – prescription screening, medicines reconciliation and therapeutic drug monitoring.
• Line‑manage a team of pharmacists and support trainee pharmacists.
• Supervise undergraduate pharmacy placements and act as a personal tutor for MPharm students.
• Deliver lectures and workshops, develop learning materials and mark assessments at Aston University.
• Oversee hospital placement programmes for students.
• Conduct clinical and pedagogic research in an area of interest.

Required profile

• Solid experience in hospital pharmacy practice.
• Enthusiasm for developing and mentoring others.
• Willingness to pursue Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) if not already held.
• Commitment to a split clinical/academic career.

Required skills

• Non‑medical prescribing (NMP) or willingness to obtain qualification.
