Specialist Neurodiversity Speech & Language Therapist (Band 7)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Band 7 Specialist Clinician in Neurodiversity to join a multidisciplinary Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team in Bedford. The role focuses on assessing children referred through the Autism Spectrum Disorder pathway and delivering high‑quality diagnostic recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct specialist neurodevelopmental and communication assessments for children.
• Participate in ADOS assessments, joint clinics and observational assessments.
• Gather and analyse information from families, schools and other professionals.
• Contribute to diagnostic decision‑making and produce detailed clinical reports.
• Provide feedback to families and professionals and support service development.
• Supervise and support students where appropriate.

Required profile

• Qualified Speech & Language Therapist with current HCPC registration.
• Significant experience working with children with ASD and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Proven experience conducting specialist neurodevelopmental assessments.
• Knowledge and practical experience of ADOS assessments.
• Strong clinical reasoning and report‑writing abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for delivering sensitive feedback.
