Specialist Pharmacist – Acute & General Medicine (Band 7)

About the role

This is a fast‑paced, 36‑hour per week Band 7 position delivering specialist pharmaceutical care to acute and general medicine patients at the Western General Hospital. You will join a highly regarded multidisciplinary team that assesses over 100 patients daily across the Medical Admissions Unit, inpatient wards and Same Day Emergency Care.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in consultant‑led ward rounds, providing expert medicines management.
• Contribute to patient flow and site capacity management through timely pharmaceutical interventions.
• Optimise prescribing decisions to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.
• Support non‑medical prescribing activities and develop advanced clinical skills.
