Specialist Pharmacist – NHS Trust

About the role

We are seeking Specialist Pharmacists to join the University Hospitals of Leicester pharmacy department. In this role you will deliver clinical pharmacy services across wards and other areas, support the MDT and contribute to high‑quality patient care within a progressive NHS Trust.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical pharmacy services to inpatient wards and outpatient areas.
• Support training and development of pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in service improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of practice.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including consultants and advanced practitioners.
• Undertake independent prescribing as part of routine duties.
• Contribute to evening, on‑call, bank‑holiday and weekend rotas.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with a current licence to practise in the UK.
• Qualified independent prescriber or eligible to obtain this qualification.
• Experience in delivering clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work flexibly across shift patterns and rotas.
