Specialist Pharmacist – RRCV & Teacher Practitioner (Split Role)

About the role
We are looking for a motivated Specialist Pharmacist to split their week between the RRCV Clinical Management Group at Glenfield Hospital (three days) and a Teacher Practitioner position at De Montfort University (two days). The role combines specialist clinical pharmacy across renal, respiratory, cardiology, vascular and surgical services with the delivery of undergraduate pharmacy education.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy input to the RRCV service, rotating through five specialist areas on a six‑month basis.
- Support safe, effective and patient‑centred use of medicines in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Deliver teaching sessions, workshops and clinical skills training for MPharm students.
- Act as a role model linking clinical practice to academic learning.
- Contribute to audit, research and service development projects in both the Trust and the university.
- Maintain professional development and work towards advanced clinical or educational practice.
Required profile
- Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Experience in specialist pharmacy practice, preferably within renal, respiratory, cardiology or related specialties.
- Interest in teaching and ability to engage undergraduate pharmacy students.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement and evidence‑based practice.
