Specialist Tax Advisor (Corporate, Trusts & VAT)

About the role

This boutique tax practice in Chester seeks a CTA‑qualified (or near‑qualified) Tax Advisor to deliver complex advisory work across corporate tax, trusts, inheritance tax and VAT. The role offers direct client contact and the chance to shape tax strategies rather than perform routine compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a full range of tax advisory services (corporate tax, IHT, trusts and estates, VAT, personal tax) within deadlines.
• Research, analyse and interpret UK and international tax legislation.
• Support tax planning and project work for companies, partnerships, trusts and individuals.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, meeting clients to gather information and explain options in plain language.
• Respond to ad‑hoc client queries and produce clear reports and presentations.
• Manage multiple advisory projects, ensuring timely delivery.

Required profile

• CTA qualified (or ATT qualified with strong specialist tax experience).
• Desire to move beyond high‑volume personal tax compliance to advisory work.
• Ability to take ownership of complex cases and work independently.
• Excellent client‑facing skills and a collaborative mindset.
