Specialty Doctor – High Support Inpatient Rehabilitation (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Specialty Doctor to join our High Support Inpatient Rehabilitation Service (Level 2) at Cygnet Kenney House in Oldham. Working three days a week, you will provide psychiatric care under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial clerking, mental state examinations and routine medical/psychiatric assessments of newly admitted patients.
• Diagnose, investigate and treat in‑patients on the unit, maintaining communication with nursing staff and other professionals.
• Participate in weekly ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, CPA, tribunal hearings and Section 117 meetings.
• Maintain accurate medical records, prepare discharge summaries and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Complete mandatory training such as BLS, ILS, Breakaway/PMVA and moving‑and‑handling courses.

Required profile

• Qualified Specialty or Associate Specialist Doctor in psychiatry with relevant experience.
• Ability to work independently while being fully supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality patient care in a rehabilitation setting.
