Specialty Doctor – Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Aberdeen)

About the role

We are seeking a Specialty Doctor to join the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. The role is based in a busy tertiary referral centre and offers a varied clinical mix across obstetrics, gynaecology and related subspecialties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emergency gynaecological care and emergency obstetric and labour ward cover on the on‑call rota.
• Deliver routine and elective services in general gynaecology, obstetrics, infertility, urogynaecology and gynaecological oncology.
• Attend outpatient clinics and participate in elective theatre lists.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Required profile

• Full registration with a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC).
• Appropriate experience for a middle or senior middle‑grade doctor.
• Commitment to the NHS values and ability to work within a busy tertiary centre.

• Obstetric emergency care.
• Gynecological emergency care.
• Clinical assessment and management of obstetric and gynaecological patients.
• Surgical procedures in obstetrics and gynaecology.
