Specialty Doctor/GP – Diabetes (1.5 sessions)

About the role

This position offers an exciting opportunity to join the Diabetes Department within NHS Tayside as a salaried Specialty Doctor/GP. Working 1.5 sessions per week, you will support the secondary‑care diabetes service by delivering outpatient clinics across the Tayside region.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one diabetes outpatient clinic per week, rotating between sites such as Perth, Ninewells, Arbroath and Forfar.
• Manage associated administrative duties, including clinic documentation and patient follow‑up.
• Contribute to the monthly professional development afternoon for the diabetes team.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of consultants, specialists and academic partners.

Required profile

• Qualified GP or Specialty Doctor with a valid licence to practise in the UK.
• Experience in diabetes care, preferably within secondary‑care settings.
• Willingness to work across multiple hospital sites in the Tayside region.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and teamwork.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and management of diabetes patients.
• Ability to conduct outpatient clinics and handle related paperwork.
• Effective communication with patients and multidisciplinary staff.
