Specification Manager – Sustainable Construction

About the role
We are seeking a Specification Manager to join a fast‑growing consultancy operating in the sustainability and construction sector. The role is client‑facing, allowing you to shape major projects by delivering high‑quality technical specifications and promoting green building solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop high‑quality technical specifications across multiple product areas.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, consultants and the wider design community.
- Manage and progress project opportunities through the specification pipeline.
- Promote sustainable solutions such as green roofs, blue roofs and living walls.
- Deliver CPDs and technical presentations to raise product awareness.
- Collaborate with contractors, clients and internal teams to drive project delivery.
- Track and report on specification activity, pipeline growth and project updates.
- Ensure health and safety compliance for all relevant project activities.
- Support continuous improvement and business‑strategy initiatives.
Required profile
- Experience specifying products within construction, landscaping or a related industry.
- Confident delivering CPDs and technical presentations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage your own diary and work autonomously.
- Highly organised with strong time‑management skills.
- Comfortable presenting to different levels of stakeholders.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant degree or qualification in a related field.
Required skills
- Technical specifications development.
- Knowledge of green roofs, blue roofs and sustainable building systems.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and activity.
- Strong technical understanding and ability to handle objections.
