Sports Lecturer – Further Education

About the role

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Sports Lecturers to deliver high‑quality sport‑related programmes for further education providers in Central London. The role involves planning, teaching and assessing learners across a range of levels, helping them progress towards careers in sport, fitness and leisure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging sports lessons and programmes.
• Teach sport‑related subjects to learners of varying abilities.
• Assess, monitor and record student progress in line with college requirements.
• Provide constructive feedback and academic support.
• Create an inclusive, positive learning environment.
• Support learners in understanding sports performance, coaching, fitness, anatomy, physiology and industry practices.
• Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Sport, Sports Science, Sports Coaching, Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
• Experience teaching sport in further, higher or secondary education or adult learning.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
