Sports Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Sports Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a pupil with additional learning needs at Sylvester Primary Academy. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver inclusive sports and practical lessons, helping the child build confidence and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 support to a pupil during sports and practical lessons.
• Adapt lesson plans and resources in collaboration with the class teacher.
• Promote the pupil’s social, emotional and academic development.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Assist with behaviour management when required.

Required profile

• Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience working with children, preferably in a school or SEN setting.
• Understanding of supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other learning difficulties.
• Compassionate, patient and proactive attitude.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
