SQL Developer – Optimise Large‑Scale Databases

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer to join a market‑leading team in Maidstone. You will work on high‑throughput databases, optimise complex T‑SQL queries and support critical data‑driven applications.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise complex T‑SQL queries across large datasets.
• Design and maintain effective indexing strategies.
• Analyse execution plans and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Investigate and fix production issues such as blocking, deadlocks and slow queries.
• Improve database schema design and ensure data integrity.
• Support safe and efficient database changes and deployments.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure efficient data access patterns.

Required profile

• Strong experience with SQL Server and T‑SQL in production environments.
• Proven ability to optimise query performance on large datasets.
• Deep understanding of execution plans, indexing and transaction isolation levels.
• Experience troubleshooting blocking, deadlocks and performance issues.
• Solid data modelling and schema design expertise.
• Background working on business‑critical systems.
