Staff Data Scientist

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Data Scientist to own the data strategy for a critical product domain such as Growth, Retention or Marketplace. You will partner with Directors and VPs across Product, Engineering and Business to shape long‑term strategy, influence investment decisions and ensure our roadmap is grounded in rigorous, scalable measurement frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a strategic understanding of key value drivers – user behavior, marketplace dynamics, pricing and unit economics – and translate them into decision frameworks for leadership.
• Define and lead the experimentation programme for your domain, designing, executing and evaluating large‑scale experiments.
• Conduct deep analytical investigations into customer behavior and retention, turning ambiguous questions into structured analyses.
• Own impact modelling, scenario analysis and forecasting for major product initiatives.
• Define and govern key metrics, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• Lead cross‑domain initiatives such as company‑wide LTV modelling and pricing strategy.

Required profile

• Proven track record of influencing product or business strategy in complex environments with measurable company‑level impact.
• Expertise in experimentation and causal inference, able to make high‑stakes decisions under imperfect conditions.
• Strong understanding of subscription and marketplace economics, including LTV modelling and pricing trade‑offs.
• Ability to influence Directors and VP‑level stakeholders and drive clarity in strategic discussions.
