Staff Engineer

About the role

Graphcore is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to join its Cloud Platform Team. You will help develop, deploy, and operate cloud services that power cutting‑edge AI systems, working closely with Software Platform, Datacentre Operations, and Product Development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and extend existing OpenStack‑based cloud services and contribute to new service development.
• Develop and run end‑user services on private and public clouds, translating product requirements into deployed solutions.
• Build automation for metrics collection, observability, and issue reporting.
• Collaborate with users, Engineering, and QA to address product‑related issues.
• Work with Datacentre Operations Engineers to maintain peak performance of AI hardware fleets.
• Configure and test new Graphcore AI hardware using Continuous Deployment and Infrastructure‑as‑Code.
• Drive corrective actions and performance optimisation across cloud services.

Required profile

• Strong background in cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and observability.
• Experience in IT organisations, datacentres, cloud providers, or orchestration/cloud service development.
• Comfort with unproven hardware and software components in a fast‑moving AI environment.
