Staff Nurse – Full‑time Permanent Role

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and caring Staff Nurse to join our small team at Dunbar Hospital in Thurso. The role involves caring for in‑patients and supporting the Minor Injuries Unit, providing high‑quality, compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to in‑patients across a range of clinical areas.
• Support the Minor Injuries Unit, including assessment and treatment of minor trauma.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to NHS policies and procedures.
• Participate in training and development activities to enhance clinical skills.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Enthusiastic, courteous and committed to delivering high‑quality care.
• Willingness to develop skills in elderly and palliative care.
• Ability to work flexible 12.5‑hour rotational shifts, including job‑share arrangements.

Required skills

• Fundamental nursing competencies as defined by the NMC.
