Static Plumbing and Heating Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Static Plumbing and Heating Engineer to join a leading facilities management provider on a permanent, full‑time basis in Leeds. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical building services within a busy commercial environment, ensuring safety, compliance and continuous operation.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on boilers, heating, ventilation and domestic plumbing systems.
• Perform routine compliance tasks such as Legionella control, water monitoring and testing.
• Diagnose faults and execute minor repairs or installations to keep services running.
• Update the CAFM system with accurate maintenance records and ticket closures.
• Prepare and follow method statements and risk assessments for all work.
• Supervise external subcontractors on site and ensure safe permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, identify requirements and assist in quoting remedial work.
• Participate in the emergency on‑call rota.

Required profile

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering Services or Plumbing Engineering.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Plumbing/Heating Engineer or Technical Operative within a facilities‑management setting.
• Strong knowledge of building services systems, including heating, ventilation, water services and basic electrical.
• Excellent communication skills for professional interaction with clients and staff.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
