Station Manager

About the role

The Station Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of a busy healthcare transport station, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant patient transport services. You will be responsible for managing staff, resources and performance to meet the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support operational staff to deliver excellent patient services.
• Ensure compliance with CQC standards, Information Governance and company policies.
• Oversee station operations, vehicle deployment and resource allocation.
• Manage staff performance, training, absence and wellbeing.
• Monitor service quality, conduct audits and implement improvements.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and suitability of ambulances, equipment and facilities.
• Produce operational and performance reports and meet contractual KPIs.
• Build positive relationships with healthcare professionals, commissioners and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Previous experience leading operational teams in healthcare, transport, logistics or a service‑focused environment.
• Strong people‑management, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Knowledge of compliance, quality assurance and performance management.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to stay calm and effective in a fast‑paced setting.
