Steel Erector – Level 3

About the role

Wright Engineering is seeking a Level 3 Steel Erector to join its dynamic team on a blue‑book energy‑from‑waste plant in London. The role involves installing, maintaining and commissioning heavy‑duty plant equipment while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read and apply engineering General Arrangements (GAs) and detailed drawings.
• Install and maintain conveyors, ash‑handling systems and other essential plant equipment.
• Operate plant machinery such as MEWPs, Loadall lifts and act as a banksman for sling operations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, including PASMA certification.

Required profile

• Level 3 City & Guilds or ECITB qualification in Steel Erecting.
• Experience in medium to heavy engineering projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation.
• CCNSG Safety Passport (or willingness to obtain).

• MEWP operation
• Loadall lift handling
• Slinger banksman techniques
• PASMA‑certified working at height
• Interpretation of engineering drawings and GAs
