About the role
The School of Economics at the University of Edinburgh is appointing a Stipendiary Fellow on a 24‑month fixed‑term contract, starting September 2026. The position is designed for final‑stage PhD candidates or recent PhDs in Economics who wish to develop a research and teaching portfolio in Applied Economics.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching (approximately 65% of the role).
- Conduct research in Applied Economics, contributing to the School’s research agenda (approximately 35%).
- Engage with students, supervise coursework, and support learning activities.
- Participate in departmental meetings, seminars and academic events.
Required profile
- Final‑stage PhD student or recent PhD graduate in Economics.
- Demonstrated ability and high potential in Applied Economics.
- Experience or strong interest in teaching at university level.
- Commitment to academic development and scholarly excellence.
