Stock Condition Surveyor – Planned Maintenance

About the role

The Stock Condition Surveyor will support a large social‑housing provider by delivering accurate condition assessments and overseeing planned maintenance programmes across its residential portfolio. This full‑time, site‑based position combines technical surveying, data management and resident engagement to inform long‑term investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive stock condition surveys and asset inspections.
• Assess the remaining lifecycle of building elements and produce specifications, reports and cost estimates.
• Support planned investment programmes for kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors and roofing.
• Supervise contractors, review variations and conduct post‑completion inspections.
• Maintain and update asset management data systems.
• Identify building defects, HHSRS hazards and safeguarding concerns.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, building regulations and health & safety requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in stock condition surveying, planned maintenance or building surveying within housing or construction.
• Strong understanding of residential construction, building defects and asset management.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Relevant qualification (HNC, HND, Degree) in Building Surveying or a related discipline – desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
