Stock Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Stock Controller to join a well‑established manufacturing organisation in Accrington. Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory across raw materials, work‑in‑progress and finished goods, ensuring production runs smoothly and warehouse efficiency is maximised.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain precise stock records for all material types in a manufacturing setting.
• Conduct cycle counts, full stock takes and investigate any discrepancies using root‑cause analysis.
• Monitor inventory levels to support production while reducing excess and obsolete stock.
• Record all stock movements accurately in the ERP/WMS system.
• Facilitate material flow between the warehouse and production to meet planning requirements.
• Assist logistics teams with shipment planning and transport bookings when needed.
• Generate inventory reports, highlighting risks, trends and improvement opportunities.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects aimed at stock accuracy and warehouse efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience in stock control or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to process compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with production, planning and logistics teams.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
