Stock Controller – Temporary (Watford)

About the role

This temporary position supports the pathology laboratory by ensuring that all essential supplies are available when needed. You will act as the first point of contact for stock‑related queries, helping to minimise downtime and maintain high standards of patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain pathology supplies across all wards.
• Process orders using online systems and track deliveries from internal drivers and external couriers.
• Expedite urgent requests, resolve supply issues and assist the warehouse team with returns and complaints.
• Maintain stockrooms, rotate and replenish items efficiently, and keep stock levels optimal.
• Log, assign and manage tasks via internal ticketing systems and produce regular reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Services Helpdesk, Warehouse Teams and Support Officers through phone and email.

Required profile

• Experience in a healthcare setting with familiarity of medical supplies or stock control.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Effective written and spoken English communication.
• Ability to prioritise, multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Professional, friendly, punctual and customer‑focused attitude.
• Commitment to confidentiality and quality standards.
