Storage Strategist – Tech‑Driven Algorithmic Fund

About the role

The Research & Development team of a leading algorithmic trading firm is seeking a Storage Strategist to define and execute the vision for current and future data storage solutions. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, shaping storage strategy that supports AI‑driven trading workloads worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own the charter for delivering performant, reliable, and future‑proof storage across the organisation.
• Collaborate with multiple cross‑functional engineering teams to design and implement storage solutions.
• Analyse storage workloads, improve user experience, and develop tools to optimise performance.
• Forecast storage demand, research emerging technologies, and create 5‑ and 10‑year roadmaps.
• Provide technical guidance, review deliverables, and troubleshoot complex storage, OS, and networking issues.
• Integrate storage systems with HPC clusters and ensure compatibility with existing hardware and software.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to support critical storage incidents.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in HPC‑like environments with multi‑PB storage deployments.
• Proven track record developing advanced storage software solutions or leading software development teams.
• Deep expertise in scale‑out enterprise storage and distributed file systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to analyse and solve problems under tight time constraints.
