Store Manager – High‑Volume Retail Leadership

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead a high‑volume retail outlet in Chelmsford. The role combines strategic ownership with hands‑on involvement on the shop floor, driving commercial performance, standards and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Full accountability for store performance, sales, productivity and profitability.
• Lead, coach and develop the management team and wider staff.
• Analyse KPIs and use data to drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain exceptional merchandising, stock control and customer service standards.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in fast‑paced retail or hospitality environments (grocery, discount, convenience, restaurants, pubs, hotels, quick‑service).
• People‑focused with a passion for developing colleagues.
• Commercially astute and comfortable working with data and performance metrics.
• Calm, resilient under pressure and proactive in leadership style.
