Store Manager – Large Format Retail

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead a high‑profile large‑format store in Kendal. The role combines hands‑on floor presence with strategic commercial responsibility, ensuring the store delivers outstanding customer experiences and meets financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a multi‑department team to deliver exceptional service.
• Drive sales performance and ensure the store achieves its revenue and profit objectives.
• Monitor key performance indicators, analyse trends and implement improvement actions.
• Maintain brand standards, health & safety compliance and visual merchandising.
• Manage inventory, stock control and loss prevention processes.
• Stay informed of market trends and competitor activity.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Store Manager or General Manager in a large‑format or big‑box retail environment.
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to maximise sales opportunities.
• Comfortable working at pace and handling multiple departments simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership presence on the shop floor.
