Store Manager – Retail Charity Store

About the role

Age UK is seeking a motivated Store Manager to lead its Midhurst shop. You will oversee daily operations, drive sales, and ensure excellent customer service while supporting the charity’s mission to help older people across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day store activities, including stock handling and merchandising.
• Lead, train, and develop a team of staff and volunteers.
• Achieve sales and profit targets through effective merchandising and customer engagement.
• Maintain store standards, health & safety, and visual presentation.
• Handle administrative tasks such as cash handling, reporting, and inventory control.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a performance‑driven retail environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop people.
• Physical capability to lift stock bags up to 10 kg.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise under pressure.
• Adaptable, with a positive attitude to change and supporting others through it.

Required skills

• IT literacy and basic numeracy.
