Stores and Logistics Operative

About the role

Our client, an award‑winning global organisation, is seeking a reliable Stores & Logistics Operative to join their laboratory operations team in Witham, Essex. The role offers full training, including forklift certification, and provides a clear pathway for a long‑term career in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and move deliveries of chemicals and consumables into the main stores.
• Transfer samples, glassware and materials between laboratories.
• Handle waste management processes, including weighing, labelling and storage.
• Process stock movements, maintain accurate records and carry out regular stock checks.
• Load and unload deliveries, using a forklift where required (training provided).
• Support wider logistics activities, including operating the company van.

Required profile

• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
• Good organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Basic IT and numeracy skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
• Physically fit and flexible, with occasional weekend availability.
• Forklift licence desirable but not essential – training will be provided.

What we offer

• Salary £25,479‑£26,256 per annum (DOE) plus a 10 % shift allowance.
