Stores Operative

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Stores Operative to join our warehouse team in Leighton Buzzard. You will play a key part in ensuring that stock is received, stored and dispatched accurately while keeping the work environment safe and tidy.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, check and record deliveries, ensuring accuracy.
• Pick, pack and issue stock to internal teams or external customers.
• Maintain up‑to‑date stock records and support regular stock checks.
• Store items safely in designated locations.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organised and compliant with health & safety procedures.
• Operate manual handling equipment where required (training provided).
• Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a warehouse or stores setting (desirable but not essential).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good time‑management and organisational abilities.
• Physically fit for manual handling tasks.
• Basic understanding of warehouse health & safety.
• Reliable, punctual and positive attitude.

Required skills

• Operation of manual handling equipment.
