Stores Operator – Fixed Term (5 months)

About the role

This fixed‑term position supports the Stores & Inventory Manager during a critical pre‑season car build period. Based in Banbury, UK, the role ensures smooth parts receipt, inventory control, kitting and logistics coordination for the upcoming Formula 1 season.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify parts against delivery notes and purchase orders, entering accurate data into the ERP system.
• Perform picking, kitting and stock movement tasks while maintaining traceability through part marking and serialization.
• Collaborate with logistics, procurement and other stores to maintain an auditable inventory and support freight loading/unloading.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and adhere to all safety regulations.
• Travel to events as required to provide professional parts service on site.

Required profile

• GCSE or equivalent qualification and at least three years’ experience in a similar stores or motorsport environment.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and race days.
• Resilient under high‑pressure, fast‑paced conditions and able to adapt quickly to changing demands.
• Trusted with confidential information and demonstrates high professional integrity.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to mentor colleagues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP, Excel, Power BI, Outlook and Teams.
• Strong knowledge of race‑car parts, assemblies, serialization and part numbering.
• Experience using part‑marking machines and operating a forklift (preferred).
• Ability to follow complex regulations related to material shipment and facility maintenance.
