Storesperson / Stores Operative – Full‑time

About the role

Join a well‑established engineering and manufacturing company as a Storesperson/Stores Operative in Gateshead. You will be responsible for managing the flow of materials in a busy warehouse, ensuring that production teams receive the right items at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect deliveries, checking goods against purchase orders.
• Book incoming stock into internal systems and maintain accurate records.
• Store materials safely with clear labelling and systematic organisation.
• Pick and prepare kits for production according to build schedules.
• Conduct regular stock checks to support effective inventory control.
• Pack and prepare goods for despatch, ensuring they are ready for delivery.
• Load and unload deliveries using appropriate equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet material needs.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or stock control role.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic IT skills, including use of stock systems and Microsoft Office.
• Good communication skills.
