Strategic Workforce Planner

About the role

This position offers an exciting chance to join a high‑profile government organisation undergoing major transformation. As a Strategic Workforce Planner you will sit within the People function, leading workforce planning, analytics and improvement initiatives to shape future capability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver strategic workforce planning frameworks and activities.
• Analyse workforce data, trends and risks to provide actionable insights for senior leaders.
• Create dashboards, reports and intelligence products that support decision‑making.
• Support organisational change, transformation and workforce strategy programmes.
• Drive process improvement, innovation and digitisation across People services.
• Facilitate workforce planning workshops and engage with senior stakeholders.
• Prepare reports, briefings and recommendations for leadership and governance groups.
• Build workforce planning capability through guidance, toolkits and best‑practice sharing.

Required profile

• Proven workforce planning experience within central government, agencies, regulators or the wider public sector.
• Strong workforce analytics, reporting and data interpretation skills.
• Experience supporting organisational change, transformation or workforce strategy programmes.
• Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders using evidence‑based insights.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
