Strategy Lead

About the role

Southwark Council is seeking a Strategy Lead to join its newly established Transformation & Insight Hub. The role sits at the centre of the council’s strategic agenda, turning evidence, insight and policy into concrete actions that improve outcomes for residents across London’s South East. You will work across multiple service areas, collaborating with data analysts, policy teams and transformation specialists to ensure evidence‑based decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support major cross‑cutting council strategies that align with the Borough Plan and national priorities.
• Research emerging national policy, assess opportunities and risks, and advise senior leaders on implications for Southwark.
• Support strategic programmes that deliver innovation, digital transformation and better outcomes for communities.
• Connect data, insight and engagement activities with policy development to create practical, ambitious strategies.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement workshops to gather community insights.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented strategies and report findings to senior management.
