Strategy & Operations Director – Data Science

About the role

As the Strategy & Operations Director for Data Science, you will partner directly with the COO & Chief of Staff and the Data Science leadership team to turn strategy into measurable business outcomes and drive organisational impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an integrated view of performance across the Data Science division, combining financial, operational, product and organisational measures.
• Define OKRs, KPIs and performance indicators with leadership and establish performance rhythms such as scorecards and operating reviews.
• Analyse performance data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities, and translate insights into recommendations for the COO and Data Science leadership.
• Support strategic execution by translating Data Science strategy into clear priorities, tracking initiatives, and leading cross‑functional projects on behalf of the COO.
• Act as a trusted partner to the COO & Chief of Staff, preparing leadership meetings, briefing materials and ensuring decisions become actionable.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategy, business operations, transformation or performance management within a complex, matrixed organisation.
• Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret financial, operational and organisational data.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence senior leaders without formal authority.
• Demonstrated track record of identifying performance improvement opportunities and delivering measurable outcomes.
• High commercial acumen and structured problem‑solving ability.
