Structural Engineer

About the role

We are a well‑established structural engineering consultancy expanding across London, Kent and Essex. We are seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join our small, supportive team and contribute to a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the analysis and design of structural elements such as beams, columns, slabs and foundations using appropriate software.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop cost‑effective and innovative structural solutions.
• Provide technical support to project teams, including research, calculations and preparation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Participate in site inspections, assess existing structures, identify deficiencies and recommend remedial actions.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings and proposed solutions.
• Work closely with architects, contractors and other consultants to ensure coordinated project delivery.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to meet project timelines.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Strong academic background with coursework in structural analysis, mechanics of materials and structural design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as Tekla Tedds and IDEA StatiCa.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
