Structural Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Hemel Hempstead. The role offers hybrid working and the chance to develop technical expertise across a varied portfolio of commercial, residential, industrial, research, energy and refurbishment projects, with support towards Chartered Engineer status.

Key responsibilities

• Produce structural designs in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
• Perform calculations and analysis using Tekla Structural Designer and TEDDS.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, developers and multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery.
• Assist with project planning, technical coordination, reporting and attend design meetings.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify construction progress and compliance with design intent.
• Stay up‑to‑date with UK design standards, legislation and sustainable engineering practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, MEng or equivalent).
• Minimum two years’ experience in structural engineering design.
• Experience designing in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• Proficiency with Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS or equivalent software.
• Strong knowledge of UK design standards and foundation/geotechnical considerations.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
