Structures and Payload Design Engineer

About the role

Boeing Global Services is seeking a multi‑skilled Structures and Payload Design Engineer to support commercial aircraft interior modifications across Europe. You will work with a global engineering team to develop, integrate and document interior payload system requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Identify requirements and develop engineering solutions for cabin layout changes, passenger service units, emergency equipment, galleys, lavatories and other interior components.
• Design modifications to aircraft environmental systems, including air‑conditioning, water and waste systems.
• Create and validate new aircraft paint schemes, emergency marking systems, and overhead crew rest stations.
• Produce substantiation documents such as flammability reports, design reports, ground‑test plans, cabin walk‑through plans and system safety analyses.
• Compile service bulletins, accomplishment instructions and manual supplements for continued airworthiness.
• Represent Boeing on aircraft surveys, on‑site installation support and customer meetings in the UK and overseas.
• Support statements of work and bids for new customer requests, and develop Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for design changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical) or related scientific discipline.
• Experience with aircraft interior design, certification processes and regulatory compliance (FAA/EASA).
• Proven ability to work across multiple time zones with global teams.
• Strong communication skills for interfacing with customers, vendors, MROs and regulatory agencies.
