Student Welfare Officer

About the role

The school in Ealing is seeking a dedicated Student Welfare Officer to join its pastoral team. This full‑time, onsite position starts in September and focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment where every learner can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day welfare and pastoral support to students throughout the school day.
• Respond to medical needs and administer first aid when required.
• Support safeguarding processes, accurately recording any concerns.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
• Monitor student wellbeing, attendance and engagement, escalating issues as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external professionals to arrange appropriate support.
• Maintain confidential and accurate student records.

Required profile

• Compassionate, approachable and confident when working with young people.
• Strong commitment to student wellbeing and safeguarding.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school setting.

Required skills

• Valid First Aid qualification (must be provided before start).
