Studio and Design Director – Architecture & Interior Design

About the role

The Crowd is partnering with a respected international architecture and interior design studio to hire a Studio and Design Director for its London office. This senior leadership position will shape the creative vision, oversee technical delivery, and mentor a talented design team across luxury hospitality, residential and F&B projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design and delivery of multiple concurrent international projects in hospitality, residential and F&B sectors.
• Lead, mentor and inspire a close‑knit design team, fostering a collaborative, high‑performing studio culture.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to evolve design concepts and creative direction.
• Present and articulate design ideas to clients, securing buy‑in and building long‑term relationships.
• Guide teams through all project stages, from concept development to technical delivery.
• Ensure projects meet financial targets, timelines and quality expectations.
• Support senior designers in managing their projects and client interactions.
• Act as the founders’ right‑hand, contributing to company strategy and growth.
• Work closely with internal and external senior stakeholders, fostering positive relationships.
• Represent the studio as an ambassador and travel to international sites when required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior design leadership role within a high‑end interiors or design studio.
• Deep understanding of interior architecture, FF&E, product design and spatial storytelling.
• Architectural qualification highly advantageous, with strong industry connections.
• Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and project performance.
• Technical confidence with solid knowledge of construction methods and building regulations.
