About the role
We are seeking a Supervising Social Worker to join a fostering team in Wigan. This position involves overseeing foster carer assessments, guiding them through the approval process, and ensuring compliance with statutory timelines.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct full assessments of prospective foster carers.
- Supervise foster carers and monitor their ongoing performance.
- Prepare and present assessments to panels for recruitment and approval.
- Attend all relevant training sessions and team meetings.
- Maintain accurate, compliant data records.
- Support recruitment, retention and training initiatives as required.
Required profile
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Degree in Social Work.
- Proven experience as a supervising social worker.
Required skills
- Assessment and case management expertise.
- Knowledge of fostering legislation and best practice.
- Strong organisational and data‑compliance abilities.
What we offer
- Competitive hourly rate of £35.
- Umbrella contract with 37 hours per week.
- Minimum three‑month placement with potential extension.
