Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier development and APQP/PPAP activities across our European footprint. The role sits at the intersection of Purchasing, Manufacturing and Engineering, providing proactive quality planning and rapid issue resolution for a largely remote workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Issue APQP projects to suppliers in collaboration with VPI programme leads.
• Maintain monthly quality metrics, update trackers and lead formal supplier performance reviews.
• Act as first line of defence for build quality issues, coordinating containment and long‑term fixes.
• Own quality FIRGs (steps 3‑7) and drive root‑cause analyses to closure in the RV&S system.
• Conduct supplier audits to assess risk, readiness and drive performance improvement plans.
• Validate supplier manufacturing processes against engineering prints, industry standards and customer specifications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering or comparable manufacturing quality role.
• Strong knowledge of automotive/industrial quality frameworks such as APQP, PPAP and AIAG tools.
• Demonstrated ability to lead structured problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action implementation.
• Effective at bridging technical communication between external suppliers and internal teams.
• Experience with quality reporting metrics and tracking systems.
